The most comprehensive resource on the history of the county is Las Calaveras, the quarterly publication of the Calaveras County Historical Society (CCHS). Beginning in 1952, the publication contains an unparalleled collection of histories on County families, locations, towns, and events. Calaveras Heritage Council is fully committed to providing accessible facilities, elements and
